We can supply you with any size of Wind Turbine. The most popular sizes we sell are 1kw, 2.5kw and 6kw. The 1kw Wind turbine is ideal for heating water using a dual immersion. It would not be sufficient for Electricity Generation. For that you would require the 2.5kw or the more ideally suited 6kw turbine. We have the 1kw EFGEN 1000 series Wind Turbine on display in our Claremorris Energy Centre and its â‚¬4,000 approximately fitted. No planning permission is required and all you need is a 10m high light pole and cable in ducting running back to the cylinder. As of yet there is no grant available on Wind Turbines.
The 1kw Wind turbine works in conjunction with EFGEN's solar hot water system and gives added value to the delivery of hot water when in winter there is less solar power available. The package consists of an EFGEN 1000 series wind turbine, Command Controller, and Dual Immersion Heater, with the following specifications:-

How It Works:-
The new EFGEN 1000 series uses the latest BCF Blade process, producing greater strength to weight ratios than conventional blade material. The machine is capable of delivering 1kw at 25mph and in excess of 1kw in higher winds, with no need for mechanical furling (Turning out of the wind). With AFC technology the EFGEN 1000 will stay facing the wind producing power until roughly 50mph, and constantly monitors the rpm and the voltage coming from the turbine to feed smooth DC power direct, via the Controller, to the immersion heater in the domestic hot water tank. Reducing the need for the use of expensive utility grade power or carbon based fuels.
Used in conjunction with the EFGEN Solar Hot System it will cut the cost of hot water heating by up to 2,000/3,000kwatt hrs per year average, depending on the wind conditions. Up to 600 euro / year saving and giving a generous 4/5 year payback on a system that is designed to give years of trouble free production.
